The ACLU is pushing for the Massachusetts Supreme Court to investigate the Springfield Police Department.
A judge took the request under advisement on Wednesday. The civil rights group also sued the Hampden District Attorney's Office earlier this year for allegedly failing to address reported police misconduct.
This is all heavily-based on the Justice Department's report from last year that found the Springfield PD's narcotics bureau used excessive force.
The police commissioner announced last week that bureau is being eliminated.
