Chancellor Says Charges Could Be Filed In E-mail Probe

UMass Amherst officials are continuing to investigate the source of racist emails sent to members of black student organizations.

Mass Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy says a digital forensics team will look into whether the emails were an isolated incident or part of a larger white supremacist campaign.

It's not yet known whether the perpetrator is affiliated with UMass.

Subbaswammy says evidence will be referred to law enforcement for possible charges.

There has been no timetable for the investigation to be concluded.
