State Senate Passes Genocide Education Bill

The Massachusetts Senate has passed a bill unanimously that will require middle and high schools to teach about the history of genocide.

The measure heads to the house and comes in the aftermath of Duxbury High School Football Players which used Holocaust related terminology to call plays.

The bill includes the creation of a trust fund that will allow for the funding of education programs for schools.

Passage of the measure was a important part of Senate President Karen Spilka's legislative agenda.
