In Springfield, city councilors are still debating how best to deal with the growing issue of illegal dirt bikes.
Tracey Whitfield is the Springfield City Councilor who says she understands why councilors are pushing a measure that would ban the sale of gas to illegal dirt bike, but is concerned about safety of gas station clerks who will get the anger from people who are denied gas.
Hartford and New Haven, both hot spots for gun violence have seen a marked decrease if the dirt bike activity because of their ordinances.
Councilors in Springfield expect to have the dirt bike ordinance before the city council in November.
