The state is expanding the universal mask mandate in Massachusetts public schools until January 15th.
The mask mandate was originally scheduled to expire on November first.
State education officials say the extension is an effort to give parents more time to get small children vaccinated for coronavirus.
The mandate will be re-visited in January.
