Springfield Cops, Others Stand Trial In Worcester

A trial is ongoing in Worcester Superior Court in connection to an alleged assault and cover-up by Springfield police officers.

The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office filed the charges following the alleged incident involving off-duty officers and several civilians at Nathan Bill's restaurant in 2015.

The first wave of defendants being put on trial included bar owner Joseph Sullivan and officers Joseph D'Amour and Darren Nguyen, but the case against D'Amour was dropped late last month.

Nguyen and Sullivan are charged with perjury and misleading an investigation, and Nguyen is also charged with filing a false police report.
