Judge Grants Bail In Cara Rintala Case

A woman accused of murdering her wife in their Granby home in 2010 is free on bail in a case that has been going on for more than a decade.

A Hampshire Superior Court judge granted the bail for Cara Rintala on Tuesday. Rintala has faced three trials for the murder, with the first two ending in mistrials and the last one producing a conviction which was tossed by the state's highest court.

Rintala has been in the women's state prison in Framingham for the last five years.

She is being allowed to live in Narragansett, Rhode Island with her parents and daughter pending a fourth trial.
