Western Massachusetts reported thirteen new coronavirus deaths on Tuesday. The pandemic death toll for the region increased to two-thousand-598. The overall number of new virus cases reported yesterday in Western Mass was two-thousand-550.
Coronavirus cases are increasing at the Hampden County Jail.
The sheriff's office said Tuesday there were 85 staff members and 29 inmates who have tested positive.
Nobody is dealing with a severe-enough case to require hospitalization at this time.
About three-quarters of the jail staff is fully-vaccinated.
