Covid Peak Not Close In Springfield

Springfield has seen some staggering increases in Covid cases over the last couple of weeks.

In the latest report- more than 27 hundred new cases have been reported.

The latest report also shows six hundred new cases reported for Wednesday of this week alone.

And, while Dr Anthony Fauci says some parts of the country are seeing a peak in cases- Springfield is not one of them.

Springfield Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton Harris says that it is alarming to see the numbers increase day to day.

Commissioner Harris says the best way is to get vaccinated and boosted against the coronavirus.

Springfield has lagged behind the rest of the region when it comes to vaccinations.

Current the rate is about 60 percent.
