Case Numbers Decline Providing Hope In World And Locally

The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus in Massachusetts has dropped over four straight days.

Officials say there were just under three thousand people in state hospitals yesterday.

The drop of patients over the last four days comes after months of increases. Nearly half of those who are hospitalized with the virus in the state are fully vaccinated.

Meantime, Springfield officials are not taking victory laps yet over news that covid cases have actually declined in the latest report- the first time it has done that in more than a month.

Almost 24 hundred cases--about a 14 decline from previous reports according to the Springfield Health Department. By real numbers- 402 fewer cases were reported in the last data released.
