Crash Survivor Sues State RMV

The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is being sued by a survivor of a 2019 truck crash in New Hampshire that killed seven motorcycle riders.

Joshua Morin says he suffered injuries that included a broken leg and pelvis, and has undergone 24 surgeries.

The RMV failed to suspend the license of the truck driver who caused the crash, Volodymyr Zhukovskyy of West Springfield, after he refused a chemical breath test in Connecticut.

Electronic and paper messages were sent by Connecticut to the Mass RMV about Zhukovskyy well before the crash, but they were not processed.

The trial of the West Springfield man is expected to get underway later this year.
