Western Mass Gets New Charging Stations

The state is funding installation of 306 electric vehicle fast-charging stations at 150 locations statewide, including in western Massachusetts.

Westfield state Senator John Velis says he's thrilled that Chicopee, Holyoke, Westfield and West Springfield are on the list.

He says electric vehicles are one of the state's best tools for lowering emissions.

“Our administration understands the importance of reliable infrastructure supporting the Commonwealths energy future,” according to Governor Baker.

“Today’s announcement is a step towards the increased deployment of these clean vehicles, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and public health, enhance energy diversity and promote economic growth.”
