Senator Richard Blumenthal is calling for a suspension of the federal gasoline tax to help with soaring fuel costs.
The Connecticut Democrat says he's introducing the Gas Prices Relief Act in Congress.
The measure would suspend the 18-cents a gallon federal tax on gasoline until January of next year to provide immediate relief at the pumps.
It is unclear what the timetable for debate on the measure will be.
