Massachusetts Congressman Stephen Lynch says Ukraine's sovereignty must be respected.
By threatening that country, Lynch says Russian President Vladimir Putin is attempting to recreate the old Soviet Union.
He tells CNN the U.S. position has to be that Putin must back down from a possible invasion.
Lynch is chair of the House Subcommittee on National Security.
