The Springfield Thunderbirds have clinched their first trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The T-Birds began play in the 2016-17 American Hockey League season. Springfield failed to qualify in their first three tries, and the pandemic prevented the team from postseason play for the last two years.
Now, the Thunderbirds will try to win their first-ever division title as they host the Syracuse Crunch at the MassMutual Center tonight.
The puck drops at 7:05.
