Chicopee School Boss Indicted

Chicopee Public Schools superintendent Lynn Clark has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of making false statements.

Prosecutors allege Clark lied about sending anonymous text messages to a candidate for Chicopee chief of police who withdrew from the application process as a result.

According to a statement from the US Attorney's office, " The investigation revealed that a total of approximately 99 threatening messages were sent from fictitious phone numbers purchased through a mobile app. Phone and internet records revealed that these numbers were allegedly purchased by Clark and that these accounts allegedly sent each of the threatening messages."

The Justice Department says Clark, who is on leave from her position, is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Springfield next Wednesday.
