Coronavirus Took Toll On New England

We are getting another look at just how bad the coronavirus was in New England over the last couple of years.

A new study indicates that more than half of all Massachusetts residents have been infected by coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data shows that nearly 60 percent of all Americans have been infected by the virus, with many of those coming since December.

Rhode Island is listed with the highest rate in New England at 53 percent, just above Massachusetts at 52 percent.

Vermont had the lowest New England number in the CDC data, with 29 percent of its residents believed to have been infected.
