Four Charged With Springfield BB Shooting Spree

Four people have been charged in connection to a BB gun shooting spree in Springfield. The shootings reportedly happened across the city on Tuesday night at around 8 p.m. There were seven people hospitalized with wounds ranging from minor to severe, according to the Springfield Police Department.

“This was an excellent team effort from our officers being able to locate these suspects during a quickly evolving situation. This egregious crime spree led to seven victims being shot in a just a short amount of time. These types of weapons can cause permanent damage and I’m thankful our officers were able to apprehend these suspects before anyone else got seriously hurt,” said Springfield Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood.

23-year-old Carlos Fontanez Jr. of Springfield,

22-year-old Orlando Olmeda of Springfield, and

19-year-old Janelli Berrios of Springfield are all charged with the shootings.

A juvenile is not being charged because of his age.
