Superintendent Clapprood Tests Positive For Covid

Springfield police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood has tested positive for COVID.

A department spokesperson says the superintendent was experiencing mild symptoms and took an at-home test this morning.

Clapprood is fully vaccinated and boosted. She is isolating and will work remotely.

Deputy Chief William Cochrane and her Command Staff will handle any administrative duties in her absence.
