Jury Convicts Coleman In Murder Of Jassy Correia

A federal jury in Boston has found Louis Coleman, the Providence man, charged with kidnapping and killing Jassy Correia guilty.

The verdict came barely two days after it got the case. It came a couple of hours after it was revealed that one of the jurors was kicked off the panel because she had researched the case. That was a violation of the judge's instructions.

Jassy's father Joaquim told reporters that the verdict "is satisfactory" since it means he (Coleman) won't be in society anymore.

Correia was seen leaving the club in Boston where she was celebrating her 23rd birthday in 2019. Prosecutors say Coleman lured Correia into his car - promising her a ride home.

The defense had claimed that it was Correia that attacked Coleman.

Coleman will be sentenced September 22nd.
