The Springfield Thunderbirds are all square in their best-of-seven Semi Final round playoff series with Laval after The Rocket scored a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over Springfield. The series is 2 games each with a pivotal game five tonight in Laval.
Springfield scored the first two goals of the game from MacKenzie MacEachern and Dakota Joshua but it was a Laval goal with just a second left in the first period that changed the momentum of the game when Jean-Sebastien Dea found the back of the net.
Laval tied the game in the second period. The third was scoreless which set up the dramatic overtime end. Rafaël Harvey-Pinard took a centering pass at the top of the crease and wristed it past Thunderbirds netminder Joel Hofer to send the capacity crowd home happy.
