Calder Cup Finals Tied- Game Three Wednesday

The Springfield Thunderbirds did what they needed to do while in Chicago- take one game to get home ice advantage. But they fell short in taking both games on the Calder Cup Finals at All State Arena.

Chicago came up with four goals in the first period on just 15 shots and held off the Thunderbirds 6-2, to take game two before more than 62 hundred people.

Chicago got goals from Richard Panik, Spencer Smallman, Joey Keane and Josh Leivo in an 11 minute time frame to notch the victory.

The series now moves to Springfield for games at the Mass Mutual Center Wednesday night at 7.Friday night at 7 and Saturday night at 7. All games- home and away are on Newsradio560 WHYN.

If games six and seven are needed they would be in Chicago.’

Chicago coach Ryan Warsofsky says that the team played within their structure and played harder overall.
