Heatwave Ending- But Farmers Still Need Help

The heat wave is coming to an end in Springfield.

It might reach 90 degrees today, but the National Weather Service is forecasting high temperatures in the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It could get down to the 50s for overnight lows this week as we prepare to turn the calendar to the final month of summer.

Despite the relatively good news about the weather, farmers are still up against it.

Many say that showers are not what they need.

They need several days of a drenching rain to help them get quality crops to market.

Farmers say many of their crops are undersized for what they should be and the lack of rain has everything to do with that.
