Springfield To Open Cooling Centers Wednesday

The heatwave day two, Wednesday in Springfield and the city has already announced that trash pickups will begin early today and for the rest of the week. The city wants to keep trash collectors out of the heat if they can. So, Mayor Dom Sarno is asking that you put your trash bins out as early as you can, otherwise you will miss it.

Also, beginning Wednesday, Cooling Centers will be open throughout the city of Springfield.

Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center , , 1476 Roosevelt Ave, Springfield, Wednesday, August 3 – Friday, August 5 10:00 am – 6:00 pm ,

Senior Center in the North End , , 310 Plainfield St., Springfield, Wednesday, August 3 – Friday, August 5 10:00 am – 6:00 pm ,

Hungry Hill Senior Center , 773 Liberty Street, Springfield, MA Wednesday, August 3 – Friday, August 5 10:00 am – 6:00 pm ,

Mason Square Library Community Room , , 765 State Street, Springfield, MA Wednesday, August 3 – Friday, August 5 10:00 am – 6:00 pm ,
