The National Weather Service has a Heat Advisory in effect on Friday for all of Western Massachusetts except northern Berkshire County.
The weather service is forecasting heat index values up to one-hundred degrees today in the Pioneer Valley.
People are being urged to avoid sun exposure or strenuous outside activities.
In addition, stay hydrated.
Meantime, it appears that so far both National Grid and Eversource are meeting the immense need for power.
There have been no reports of any power outages so far.
