Hot summer weather is sticking around in Southern New England.
The National Weather Service extended a Heat Advisory through the weekend.
It's now set to expire on Tuesday night.
The weather service says heat index values will continue to surpass the one-hundred-degree mark today and tomorrow.
Forecasters say despite the break in the heat, we are still in need of a drenching rain and that may be some time in the future.
We will see some showers, but nothing like what the people in the Weather Center say we need throughout the region.
