Congressional Delegation Denounce Florida Immigration Flight To State

Assistance is pouring into Martha's Vineyard for the dozens of illegal immigrants flown to the island this week with no notice.

The group apparently were told that they would be taken to Boston before their plane took them from Florida to Martha's Vineyard instead.

Residents rushed to donate food, clothing and other items for the stranded illegal immigrants from Venezuela after learning of the situation.

Meantime, there is a mystery as to whether western Mass will be getting any illegal immigrants.

Northampton and Amherst communities mobilized Thursday in anticipation of buses arriving with groups of illegal immigrants.

Both Northampton and Amherst are considered "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is taking credit for flying a group of about 50 illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard this week.

An anonymous caller claiming to be from Texas Governor Greg Abbott's office was the apparent source of information about the migrant buses coming to Western Massachusetts.

Local officials say they have been unable to substantiate the claims.
