The Boston Red Sox have been eliminated from playoff contention after being swept in a four-game series by the New York Yankees.
The Red Sox were unable to score any runs in a two-to-nothing defeat at Yankee Stadium last night in rain-shortened contest.
Boston's Brayan Bello took the loss, giving up two runs in six innings on the mound.
The Red Sox are back at Fenway Park tonight to take on the Baltimore Orioles with first pitch scheduled for seven-10 p-m.
The Yankees Aaron Judge continued to hit during the series but failed to hit any home runs.
The Yankees are in Toronto for the next four games.
