Holyoke To Use Techology To Keep City Streets Safer

The Holyoke City Council is moving forward with a plan to use the gunfire recognition ShotSpotter technology.

The council approved a fifty-thousand dollar federal grant to use the program for two years.

Councilor Jose Maldonado-Velez compared the Holyoke Police Department to a gang at a meeting in September at which the ShotSpotter grant was initially rejected.
