The puck is dropping on the 2022-2023 Springfield Thunderbirds season.
Springfield hosts the Bridgeport Islanders at the MassMutual Center on Saturday night and the Providence Bruins on Sunday afternoon.
Opening night begins with a huge Block Party - presented by Community Bank from 4 to 6pm.
A reminder to fans driving to the game that the Civic Center parking garage is no-longer in use.
While its replacement is being constructed, other options include free parking at MGM Springfield, or the pay-to-park I-91 South Garage.
And the team adds that handicapped parking is available across from the MassMutual Center box office.
There are tickets still available. If you can’t make it to the game, you can hear the action live here on Newsradio 560 WHYN with the pregame show with play-by-play man Ryan Smith beginning at 6:45pm.
