Mass Tax Rebates Get Mailed Tuesday

The state will begin sending out an estimated three-billion-dollars in tax refunds to Massachusetts residents this week.

Over the next six weeks, the money will be sent in checks and direct deposits under a 1986 law requiring the return of extra state revenue to taxpayers.

State officials say residents will receive around 14 percent of their personal state income tax liability.

Taxpayers must have filed their 2021 return by October 17th in order to be eligible for the refund.

The rebates will go to both resident and non - resident taxpayers.
