H-S-H Settlement Approved By Federal Judge

A federal judge is approving a 58-million-dollar settlement for the victims of the 2020 coronavirus outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home.

The money goes to the families of the veterans who died or fell ill from the virus at the start of the pandemic.

A class-action suit was filed against the former leaders of the Holyoke Soldiers' Home and governor appointees in charge of veterans' and health and human services.

This is believed to be the largest settlement of its kind nationwide.

Officials say that the 58 million dollars does not include attorney fees.

Those are being payed for separately and will not affect the settlements to the families.
