SJC: Infidelity Is No Excuse

The Massachusetts Suprepe Court has ruled that a man cannot avoid being convicted of murdering a woman who tells him that she was unfaithful.

The Supreme Judicial Court ruling came in the case of a man who killed his pregnant wife in 2009 after she confessed the baby was not his.

The suspect in the case had sought to have his first-degree murder conviction reduced to manslaughter because of his girlfriend's infidelity.

The high court ruling says an exception for infidelity in the killing of a spouse has no place in current law.
