Easthampton Rescinds Job Offer For School Boss Post

A candidate for superintendent in the Easthampton School District says the job offer was rescinded because of something he said in an email.

Vito Perrone told our media partner Western Mass News that he addressed school board chair Cynthia Kwiecinski and executive assistant Suzanne Colby as "ladies" and that it was deemed a microaggression.

Perrone, a former Easthampton principal who is currently the interim superintendent of the West Springfield district, said he did not intend to insult anyone.

He said that growing up in the sixties and the seventies that is how one showed respect to people while writing someone.

His supporters are planning to protest on tonight ahead of the next Easthampton board meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
