DOJ, Gov React To Arrest Of Man For Leaked Documents

The Massachusetts Air National Guardsman accused of leaking military secrets is expected to appear in Boston federal court today.

Jack Teixeira is the main person of interest in the leaking of highly sensitive military documents online.

The 21-year-old Teixeira was taken into custody yesterday outside his family's Dighton home.

Teixeira was with the 102nd Intelligence Wing at the Otis Air National Guard Base in Sandwich, and was an IT specialist with access to classified information.

Meantime, Governor Maura Healey is reacting to the arrest of a Massachusetts Air National Guardsman for leaking military secrets.

Healey says the arrest of Jack Teixeira is an incredibly startling revelation.

She says the state is working closely with federal investigators on the matter, and they will do anything possible to assist the investigation.

Congressman Seth Moulton says leaking classified materials threatens lives and undermines foreign policy.

And, Congressman Jake Auchincloss says that there should be congressional hearings to find out how it was possible to get the documents in the first place.
