In the chase for a championship, the Springfield Thunderbirds dropped a six to one game to the Hartford Wolfpack in the opening round of the Calder Cup Playoffs. The final was 6 to 1.
Hartford got the first goal of the game at the 3:37 mark and did not let up from there.
They put the game away in the second period scoring three goals.
So game number two in the best of three series is Friday night.
If game three is necessary it would be Saturday in Springfield.
