Red Sox Lose Wild One At Fenway

The Reds held on to take their series opener against the Red Sox.

Cincinnati topped Boston 9-8 at Fenway Park.

Ben Lively was credited with the win after striking out six batters over five and two-thirds scoreless innings.

Alexis Diaz secured his 13th save of the season after getting the final two outs of the game.

Jose Barrero went two for two at the plate with a grand slam for the Reds, who are third in the NL Central at 25-and-29.

Brayan Bello was charged with the loss after striking out four batters while allowing one run over four innings.

Raimel Tapia and Rafael Devers each drove in a pair of runs for the Red Sox, who are now last in the AL East at 28-and-26.
