Governor Announces Local Grants For Food Insecurity

The state is awarding 250-thousand-dollars in grants to 17 local advocacy groups to combat food insecurity.

A recent report found that one-third of households statewide struggled with food insecurity last year.

Western Massachusetts grant recipients include the Holyoke Food Economy Coalition, Just Roots in Greenfield for the Franklin County Food Council, the South Berkshire Rural Health Network in Great Barrington and the town of Ware to create the Quaboag Valley Region Food Policy Council.
