Former Worcester superintendent Maureen Binienda agreed to a one-year contract.
The Easthampton School Board has been mired in controversy this year after Vito Perrone, a former superintendent candidate, said the job offer was rescinded because he called female officials "ladies."
The school committee said Binienda will focus on nurturing a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
