Massachusetts Registry Expecting Crowds For New License Program

Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicle Officials are expecting more than 100 thousand people who are currently undocumented to apply for a drivers license under a new state law.

Officials say they could get two thousand people a day seeking the license.

The law mandates that under certain circumstances, a person could apply for a license regardless of their immigration status.

Proponents say that it will make the roads safer.

Opponents say that there will be a threat of I-D theft.

Connecticut has a similar law along with 18 other states.
