Easthampton Mayor Nicole LaChapelle is vetoing an ordinance that would regulate crisis pregnancy centers.
The measure, which was originally proposed after the defeat of Roe v. Wade last year, targeted deceptive advertising.
Abortion rights advocates claim that crisis pregnancy centers share misleading information about reproductive care.
LaChapelle expressed concerns about the ordinance facing legal challenges, which she said could be costly to the city.
The mayor also said it would not add to the rights that an individual has under existing state law.
