Teachers Unions Endorses End To MCAS Mandate

The Massachusetts Teachers Union is supporting a ballot question to drop the requirement that high school students pass MCAS exams to graduate.

The union's board of directors voted yesterday to support the ballot question.

The board vote will allow the union to use money and other resources to try and get the measure approved in the 2024 election cycle.

The ballot initiative calls for eliminating the MCAS graduation requirement, allowing students to graduate if they complete the specified course work.
