Historic Building To Become Market Rate Apartments

A developer has been selected to convert three downtown Springfield properties into mixed-use.

The buildings were acquired in 2021 as part of a bank foreclosure sale by the Springfield Redevelopment Authority.

The list includes the iconic clock tower building on State Street, the historic colonial building on the 11-hundred block of Main Street and 11-dash-21 Stockbridge Street.

Springfield officials announced on Wednesday the job is going to McCaffery Interests Inc., a Chicago-based commercial real estate development company with thirty years of experience.
