The Chicopee City Council agreed to reduce the speed limit on Chicopee Street at a meeting held Tuesday night.
Chicopee Street has been the site of numerous deadly crashes over the past year.
The proposal called for the speed limit to be reduced to 25 miles per hour.
It's not clear exactly when the change will be made.
In addition, more speed limit signs will be posted.
