Hadley Hosts Migrants On Short Notice

A hotel in Hadley has become a state-designated shelter for migrant families.

A total of 34 people, including 12 children are staying at a Knight Inn; two weeks ago, the state designated the hotel as a supplemental shelter for those without homes.

Local officials are working to see to the families' needs and say the state should reimburse them for the cost.

The housing comes just days before Governor Maura Healey's deadline of November 1st, as the cutoff date for adding emergency shelter units.
