Million Dollar Drug Bust Nets Two, Plus Guns And Ammo

Two arrests have been made in connection with a narcotics investigation in Hampden County.

Authorities announced that state police arrested 49-year-old Jose Martinez and Leonilde Rivera, 57, of Chicopee last Saturday during a traffic stop on the Mass Turnpike.

Troopers reportedly seized three kilograms of suspected fentanyl and three kilos of cocaine, valued at one-point-five-million-dollars.

A search of the suspect's home in the 100 block of Casino Avenue was said to reveal three AR-15-style weapons.

Prosecutors say Martinez and Rivera travel out of state to pick up the drugs and bring them back for distribution in the Chicopee area.

Both are being held for lack of bail; they next appear in court on November 21st.
