Sarno: More Parks. Schools And Economic Development Coming

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno has won re-election to his sixth term in office.

Sarno defeated City Council member Justin Hurst, but the matter leading to Election Night remains under investigation.

Hurst is facing allegations of paying voters to support him in early voting, said to be confirmed by sworn affidavits by election officials and at least one police officer.

Hurst, who is an At-Large Councilor, has denied the allegations.

Sarno took 57 percent of the vote and told reporters that residents can expect more parks, more parks and schools and economic development.
