Legislative leaders are proposing 250-million-dollars to help ease the emergency shelter system crisis.
The money in a larger spending bill would require Governor Maura Healey to delay her plan to limit the number of families in the emergency shelter system.
Officials expect the state to reach Healey's cap of 75 hundred sheltered families today or tomorrow.
The legislative proposal would require the state to dedicate 50-million-dollars towards a temporary overflow site for those waiting for emergency shelter space.
