Man Arrested - Two Kids Reunited With Mom In Springfield Case

A multi-agency investigation has led to the finding of two children in Springfield.

Police in Puerto Rico sought help from the U.S. Marshal's Service in finding the kids, who were believed to be with their noncustodial father, Luis Gonzalez-Fontanez.

They had been missing since June of 2021. Investigators say Gonzalez-Fontanez took his children to Hartford, Connecticut, and later moved to a home on Tyler Street in Springfield, where he was arrested Monday.

The condition of the children was not revealed.

Gonzalez-Fontanez is being charged as a fugitive from justice and will be extradited to Puerto Rico.
