Governor Seeking Land For New Hampden County Courthouse

The Healey-Driscoll Administration is seeking proposals for the site of Springfield's new courthouse.

The Request for Proposals, or RFP calls for owners with at least two developable property acres within the city limits.

Governor Maura Healey announced in June the state would provide more than 106 million dollars to replace the Roderick Ireland Courthouse.

The new building will be known as the Springfield Justice Center and would handle superior and district courts, plus house the Hampden County District Attorney's Office and the County Registry of Deeds.
